Welcome to The BV CUB!

When founder Fred Davis embarked on this journey 38 years ago, he wanted “to reflect the mood, style, and desires of this great community. In other words, we want to be the line of communication through which our community can talk to itself.” While the paper has changed hands over the years, this desire has not changed. Our goal is to keep our property owners, residents, and neighbors informed on community concerns and local events. If it matters to you, it matters to The BV CUB.

While our purpose remains the same, The BV CUB has made some changes: we are active on Facebook, we are featuring new columns with new writers, we have a new logo, and now you can access your subscription online!

At The BV CUB, we believe in giving, and we will continue to give back to the community of Bear Valley Springs, its members, and Tehachapi as a whole. This year, we are again sponsoring the Challenge the Bear and Cheers to Charity events. We will continue to support worthy causes in our community. We will feature more on these events in the upcoming issues.

CUB Celebrates 39 Years!

This year, the BV CUB is celebrating 39 years of serving the Bear Valley Springs community. Over years, we’ve been committed to reporting the news – good, bad, or otherwise. We’ve had our ins and outs, ups and downs, but through it all we’ve remained dedicated to providing this great service to our paradise in the hills.

The BV CUB has changed hands over the years, be we remain a privately held publication, with no ties to the Bear Valley Springs Community Services District (“the government”) or Bear Valley Springs Association (amenities management). Our goal is to keep property owners, residents, and neighbors apprised of community concerns and events that effect our daily lives. Communication is the key to keeping our community informed, so that, together, we can maintain our great living environment for generations to come.

While other forms of “reading material” are available to our valley, the BV CUB is the only news source that specifically addresses life in Bear Valley Springs from an independent source, and without bias. We take great effort in our research to provide accurate, in-depth information.

Social media is a great daily form of information, however, it is ridden with accusations and unverified data. Anyone can write online, and many get frustrated with the accuracy of information provided.

Over the years, the BV CUB has remained focused on providing one thing: Bear Valley Springs News. It is an honor to be a part of our great community and to serve our valley in this capacity.

“We have no axes to grind. We will speak out, editorially, whenever we think something needs to be said. In our news columns, we will strive to be objective… We want The CUB to reflect the mood, style, and desires of this great community. In other words, we want to be the line of communication through which our community can talk to itself.”
