Welcome to The BV CUB!
When founder Fred Davis embarked on this journey 38 years ago, he wanted “to reflect the mood, style, and desires of this great community. In other words, we want to be the line of communication through which our community can talk to itself.” While the paper has changed hands over the years, this desire has not changed. Our goal is to keep our property owners, residents, and neighbors informed on community concerns and local events. If it matters to you, it matters to The BV CUB.
While our purpose remains the same, The BV CUB has made some changes: we are active on Facebook, we are featuring new columns with new writers, we have a new logo, and now you can access your subscription online!
At The BV CUB, we believe in giving, and we will continue to give back to the community of Bear Valley Springs, its members, and Tehachapi as a whole. This year, we are again sponsoring the Challenge the Bear and Cheers to Charity events. We will continue to support worthy causes in our community. We will feature more on these events in the upcoming issues.

The Voting has begun on Locking Mailboxes – Again…
By Faith Green
The battle for locking mailboxes is back in the ring. In 2010, the method of choice to provide the funding was a Special Tax, requiring a 2/3rd majority vote. In November 2010, the voters responded and the measure failed.
Seven years later, the issue is back, but this time it is being presented as a Special Benefit Assessment – which only requires a 50% + 1 vote. Will the measure pass this way? How much will this cost? How can I learn more?
The Bear Valley Springs Community Services District will hold a Town Hall meeting at the Whiting Center on July 13, 2017, at 6 p.m. to address questions regarding the Mailbox Project.
